Step 1
Install Hello Guest Screen on Your TV
The installation method depends on which TV or streaming device you have. Find your device below.
Most Popular
Amazon Firestick
Works on any TV with an HDMI port regardless of brand or age — LG, Samsung, Hisense, Vizio, TCL, or any other brand.
Insert your Amazon Firestick into any available HDMI port on your TV. Switch the TV input to that HDMI source. Connect the Firestick to your property’s WiFi network.
From the Firestick home screen, go to the search icon and type Hello Guest Screen. You can also say Hello Guest Screen into the Alexa voice remote. Select the app and click Download.
Open the app and sign in with the email and password from your Hello Guest Screen account at helloguestscreen.com. If you do not have an account, create one free — no credit card required.
Go to Firestick Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Hello Guest Screen, and enable Launch on Startup. This ensures the welcome screen appears automatically every time your guest turns on the TV.
2017 and later — native app
Samsung Smart TV
Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onward run Tizen OS and support Hello Guest Screen as a native app. No Firestick or extra device needed.
Press the Home button on your Samsung remote. Navigate to Apps, then search for Hello Guest Screen in the Samsung Smart Hub app store.
Select Hello Guest Screen, download it, and open it. Sign in with your helloguestscreen.com account credentials.
Go to Samsung TV Settings → General → Smart Features and set Hello Guest Screen as the default home app. On 2017–2019 models: Settings → General → Autorun Last App — enable this option.
2017 and later — native app
LG Smart TV
LG Smart TVs from 2017 onward run webOS and support Hello Guest Screen natively. Older LG TVs can use a Firestick via HDMI.
Press the Home button on your LG remote. Navigate to the LG Content Store or Apps section and search for Hello Guest Screen.
Install Hello Guest Screen and sign in with your account credentials.
For webOS 4.0 and later: Settings → General → System → Additional Settings → Home Settings — set Hello Guest Screen as the home app. For older LG TVs using a Firestick: go to Settings and change the default startup input to the HDMI port where the Firestick is connected.

Step 2
Connect Your Booking Calendar
This is what makes the screen automatic — your guest’s name and reservation dates flow from your calendar to the screen with no manual input.
Connect in 4 steps
Go to helloguestscreen.com and sign in. Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Choose from Airbnb iCal, VRBO iCal, Guesty, Hostfully, OwnerRez, Cloudbeds, Booking.com, BeHome247, or any platform with an iCal export link. If you use multiple platforms without a PMS, you can connect multiple iCal links to the same property — Hello Guest Screen merges them.
For iCal platforms (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com): copy the iCal export URL from your listing settings and paste it into Hello Guest Screen. For PMS platforms (Guesty, Hostfully, OwnerRez, Cloudbeds): follow the authorization steps in your dashboard — Hello Guest Screen connects via API and imports your upcoming reservations immediately.
After connecting, go to your Hello Guest Screen property preview. Your next upcoming guest’s name and reservation dates should already be visible. If you have an active booking, the guest name will already appear on the screen preview.
Airbnb iCal tip
Where to find your Airbnb iCal link
Log in to Airbnb, go to your listing → Calendar → Availability Settings → Export Calendar. Copy the webcal:// or https:// link ending in .ics and paste it into Hello Guest Screen.
Each listing has its own iCal URL. If you have 3 Airbnb listings you will need 3 iCal links — one per property in Hello Guest Screen.
Step 3
Customize Your Welcome Screen
Set the fixed elements of your welcome screen — the content that stays the same across all bookings while the guest name and dates update automatically.
1
Set your property details
Enter your property name, the WiFi network name and password, your standard check-out time, and any custom welcome message you want every guest to see.
2
Upload your logo or host photo
Upload your property logo or a host photo. This appears on the screen alongside the guest’s name and helps build brand identity or personal connection with each guest.
3
Set your background
Choose a background image from your own photos or use a YouTube video link for an ambient video background. Paste any YouTube URL and the video plays silently behind your welcome display.
4
Configure your QR code
Paste the URL you want the QR code to link to — your direct booking page, house rules, local recommendations, your Airbnb review page, or any URL you choose. Customize the QR code label so guests know what they are scanning.
5
Save and preview
Click Save. Your Hello Guest Screen dashboard shows a live preview of exactly what guests will see on the TV. Check the preview on a desktop browser and on your phone to confirm everything looks correct before the next guest arrives.
What Happens Automatically After Setup
Once the three setup steps are complete, Hello Guest Screen runs itself. Here is what happens automatically for every booking.
2 hours before check-in
Hello Guest Screen activates the personalized welcome screen for the incoming guest. Their name, check-in date, check-out date, and all property details appear on the TV.
When guest turns on the TV
The welcome screen appears immediately — no guest action required beyond pressing the power button. Guest name, WiFi password, check-out time, weather, and QR code are all visible.
Throughout the stay
The welcome screen appears every time the TV is turned on. The check-out time is visible on each day of the stay, not just at check-in. The weather updates in real time each day.
2 hours after check-out
Hello Guest Screen automatically clears the previous guest’s information and resets the screen. When the next booking begins, the new guest’s details appear automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions — Setup and How It Works
The most common questions from hosts setting up Hello Guest Screen for the first time.
The installation takes under 10 minutes for most hosts. Installing the app on a Firestick takes about 3 minutes. Connecting your Airbnb iCal calendar takes about 2 minutes. Customizing the welcome screen — logo, background, WiFi, QR code — takes about 5 minutes. Total first-time setup is typically under 10 minutes. The Hello Guest Screen team also offers a free setup call if you prefer to do it with a team member on a screen share.
Yes. If your TV has an HDMI port — which virtually all TVs manufactured in the last 15 years do — you can plug in an Amazon Firestick and Hello Guest Screen works on it. The Firestick makes any TV a smart display regardless of the TV’s brand or age. A Firestick costs under $25 and is available from Amazon.
Hello Guest Screen manages same-day turnovers automatically. The screen clears 2 hours after the first guest’s check-out time and activates the new guest’s welcome screen 2 hours before the next guest’s check-in time. For same-day bookings where the gap is less than 4 hours, the screen transitions based on the exact check-out and check-in timestamps in your booking calendar.
Yes. You can connect both your Airbnb iCal link and your VRBO iCal link to the same property in Hello Guest Screen. The system merges both calendars and activates the correct guest’s welcome screen based on whichever booking is currently active. For hosts on multiple platforms who do not use a PMS, this is the simplest multi-platform setup.
If the guest name does not appear, the most common cause is that the iCal export from your booking platform does not include the guest name in the calendar event. This can happen on some Airbnb account types or VRBO bookings. In this case, you can enter the guest name manually in your Hello Guest Screen dashboard for that booking date. For guaranteed automatic name display, connecting through a PMS like Guesty, OwnerRez, or Hostfully always includes complete guest name data.
Yes. Your Hello Guest Screen account supports unlimited properties. Each property has its own screen with its own customization — different WiFi passwords, backgrounds, welcome messages, and QR code links. All properties are managed from one dashboard login. Add new properties at any time without creating a new account.
Yes. Hello Guest Screen requires an active internet connection to pull guest data from your booking calendar, display real-time weather, and keep the screen current. The property’s WiFi must be active for the TV display to function. The device needs to remain connected to WiFi throughout the guest’s stay for weather to update daily.
The free setup call is a one-on-one session with a Hello Guest Screen team member who will configure your first screen with you on a screen share. They will install the app on your device, connect your booking calendar, customize your welcome screen, and test the auto-launch setting — all in under 20 minutes. Book at helloguestscreen.com/get-started/str or through the link on the sign-up confirmation email.
