LG Smart TV
Hello Guest Screen for LG Smart TV
Display a fully personalized welcome screen on your LG Smart TV the moment your Airbnb guests turn it on. Hello Guest Screen runs on LG Smart TVs via two methods: natively through the LG Content Store for newer models, or via an Amazon Firestick for older LG TVs. Either way, your guests see a personalized welcome screen the moment they turn on the TV.
✓ LG OLED, QNED, NanoCell (webOS 3.5+) ✓ All LG TVs via Firestick
✓ Guest name, WiFi, check-out time, weather — all automatic — no remote needed
Two Ways to Run Hello Guest Screen on Your LG TV
LG Smart TVs have their own operating system called webOS. Depending on how old your LG TV is, you have two options. Both work perfectly — the right choice depends on your TV model year.
Path A — Native webOS App
LG Smart TVs with webOS 3.5 or later (2017+)
Install Hello Guest Screen directly from the LG Content Store. No extra device needed. Full native app experience.
Path B — Via Firestick
Any LG TV with an HDMI port (any year)
Plug an Amazon Firestick into the HDMI port. Install Hello Guest Screen on the Firestick. Works on all LG models regardless of age.
Real Host Experience — Sims, United States
★★★★★
“I had to use a Firestick with my LG TV but it works great. I had to go to settings to tell LG to turn on to the Firestick and that was it. My guests comment immediately after check-in when they turn on the TV to get the WiFi and see their name.”

Older LG?
Pre-2017 LG TV? Older LG TVs running webOS 2.x or earlier are not compatible with the native app. Plug an Amazon Firestick into the HDMI port and install Hello Guest Screen on the Firestick instead. Then set your LG TV to boot directly to the Firestick HDMI input. See Path B setup below — it works on any LG regardless of age.
Path A — Native webOS App
Setup Guide — Native webOS App (LG 2017 and Newer)
If your LG TV is from 2017 or later, install Hello Guest Screen directly from the LG Content Store. No extra hardware required.
1
Press the Home Button on Your LG Remote
Press the Home button (the house icon) on your LG Magic Remote or standard LG remote. This opens the LG Smart TV home launcher at the bottom of the screen. You can also press the LG button if your remote has one.
2
Open the LG Content Store
From the home launcher bar, scroll to find the LG Content Store (it looks like a bag or storefront icon). Select it to open the LG app marketplace. If you cannot find it on the home bar, go to the Apps section or search using the magnifying glass icon.
3
Search for Hello Guest Screen
In the LG Content Store, use the search function and type Hello Guest Screen. Select the Hello Guest Screen app from the search results. You will see the app description and an Install button.
4
Install and Launch the App
Select Install and wait for the download to complete. The app will appear on your LG home launcher. Select it to open Hello Guest Screen for the first time.
5
Sign In and Connect Your Calendar
Sign in with your Hello Guest Screen email and password. Then go to Settings in your dashboard and connect your booking platform — Airbnb, VRBO, Guesty, Hostfully, OwnerRez, Booking.com, or any iCal link. Guest names and reservation dates will sync automatically.
6
Customize and Preview Your Welcome Screen
Add your WiFi name and password, check-out time, property name, logo, and any custom welcome message. Optionally add a background image, YouTube ambient video link, and QR code. Preview the screen before saving.
7
Set Hello Guest Screen to Auto-Launch on TV Power On
On your LG TV, go to Settings (the gear icon) → General → System → Additional Settings (or Startup Applications). Find the option to set a default startup app and select Hello Guest Screen. Once set, the welcome screen launches automatically every time a guest turns on the TV.
webOS Auto-Launch
webOS auto-launch path by version — webOS 3.5 to 4.5 (2017–2019): Settings → General → Additional Settings → Home Settings → set Home to Launcher. Then pin Hello Guest Screen to the first position. webOS 5.0+ (2020 and newer): Settings → General → System → Additional Settings → Quick Start → On. Then ensure Hello Guest Screen is the first pinned app. The screen launches on next power on.
Path B — Via Amazon Firestick
Setup Guide — Via Amazon Firestick (Any LG TV)
For older LG TVs or any LG TV where you prefer the Firestick setup. This method works on every LG TV regardless of model year.
1
Plug the Firestick into the LG TV HDMI Port
Insert the Amazon Firestick into any HDMI port on your LG TV. Connect the USB power cable. Switch the TV input source to the correct HDMI number using your LG remote (press the Input or Source button).
2
Set the LG TV to Boot to the Firestick Input
This is the most important LG-specific step. Go to LG TV Settings → General → Devices → TV Management → Home Dashboard. Find the HDMI input where your Firestick is connected and set it as the default startup input. This tells LG to go directly to the Firestick when the TV turns on — skipping the LG home screen entirely.
3
Complete Firestick Setup and Install Hello Guest Screen
On the Firestick, connect to your property WiFi, then open the Amazon App Store and search for Hello Guest Screen. Install the app, sign in to your account, connect your booking calendar, and customize your welcome screen following the same steps as the full Firestick setup guide.
4
Enable Hello Guest Screen Auto-Launch on the Firestick
On the Firestick, go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Hello Guest Screen, and enable Launch on Startup. With both the LG TV set to boot to the Firestick input and the Firestick set to auto-launch Hello Guest Screen, the welcome screen appears automatically every time a guest turns on the TV.
Key LG Tip
The tip that makes LG + Firestick work perfectly: The key step most hosts miss is telling the LG TV to default to the Firestick HDMI input on power on. Without this step, guests see the LG home screen first and have to manually switch input. Found under Settings → General → Devices → TV Management → Home Dashboard — the Firestick input becomes the default and Hello Guest Screen appears the moment the TV turns on.

Frequently Asked Questions — Hello Guest Screen on LG Smart TV
Answers to the most common questions from Airbnb hosts about using Hello Guest Screen on an LG TV.
Yes. Hello Guest Screen works on LG Smart TVs in two ways. For LG TVs running webOS 3.5 or later (2017 and newer), you can install Hello Guest Screen directly from the LG Content Store app marketplace with no extra hardware needed. For older LG TVs or any LG TV with an HDMI port, you can plug in an Amazon Firestick and install Hello Guest Screen on the Firestick — the experience for your guests is identical either way.
For webOS (native app): go to Settings, then General, then Additional Settings and set the startup app to Hello Guest Screen. The exact menu path varies slightly by webOS version — on webOS 5.0 and later look under Settings, General, System, Additional Settings. For Firestick on LG: first set the LG TV to default to the Firestick HDMI input on startup (Settings, General, Devices, TV Management, Home Dashboard), then enable auto-launch on the Firestick itself under Settings, Applications, Hello Guest Screen.
Yes. Older LG TVs running webOS 2.x or earlier are not compatible with the native Hello Guest Screen app, but the Firestick method works perfectly. Plug an Amazon Firestick into any HDMI port on your LG TV, install Hello Guest Screen from the Amazon App Store, and then set your LG TV to boot directly to the Firestick input. Your guests will see the welcome screen automatically when they turn on the TV regardless of how old the LG TV is.
The most important LG-specific setup step is changing the default startup input. On your LG TV, go to Settings, then General, then Devices, then TV Management, then Home Dashboard. Find the HDMI input where your Firestick is connected and flag it as the default. From now on, when the TV is turned on it goes directly to the Firestick — and Hello Guest Screen launches from there. This is the step that makes the whole system seamless for guests.
Yes. LG OLED and QNED TVs from 2017 onward all run webOS and are fully compatible with Hello Guest Screen via the native webOS app. This includes the LG C, G, and B Series OLED TVs as well as QNED and NanoCell models. These are among the most popular premium TVs used in high-end vacation rentals and Hello Guest Screen displays beautifully on their screens.
Yes. Hello Guest Screen pulls guest information directly from your connected booking calendar. When one guest checks out and the next reservation begins, the LG TV screen updates automatically with the new guest name, check-in and check-out dates, and all saved settings. This works identically whether you are using the native webOS app or the Firestick method. No manual changes are required between bookings.
Yes. Your Hello Guest Screen account is managed through the web dashboard at helloguestscreen.com. You can update your WiFi password, change the welcome message, adjust check-out times, swap background images, or modify any setting from your phone, tablet, or computer from anywhere in the world. Changes appear on your LG TV at the property within minutes.
For most hosts with a 2017 or newer LG TV, the native webOS app is cleaner — nothing to plug in, nothing to unplug, one less device to manage. For hosts with older LG TVs, the Firestick method is equally reliable and gives the exact same guest experience. Many hosts who already have a Firestick prefer that setup regardless of TV age because they are already familiar with the Firestick interface. Both are fully supported and deliver identical results for guests.
