✓ All Samsung Smart TVs 2017 and newer  ✓ Tizen OS 3.0+  ✓ No extra hardware required
✓ Installs directly from Samsung Smart Hub — setup in under 10 minutes — no technical knowledge needed

Why Samsung Smart TV Is the Cleanest Setup

Samsung is the world’s best-selling TV brand — and the only major brand where Hello Guest Screen can be installed directly on the TV itself without any additional device. No Firestick. No Roku stick. No HDMI dongle. Just the TV.

Nothing extra to unplug, lose, or replace

There is nothing extra for guests to accidentally unplug or lose. The welcome screen lives on the TV itself. It is one less device to manage — no Firestick remote to go missing, no streaming stick to replace if it breaks. The TV is the device.

Samsung’s Tizen OS has its own app marketplace called Samsung Smart Hub. Hello Guest Screen is available directly in Smart Hub, which means installation takes the same amount of time as downloading any app on a phone.

No extra hardware = no extra cost

Zero hardware cost if you already have a Samsung

A Firestick costs $25–$55. A Roku stick costs $30–$50. If your property already has a Samsung Smart TV from 2017 or newer, you pay nothing extra for hardware. You simply install the Hello Guest Screen app directly on the TV and you are done. The only cost is the Hello Guest Screen subscription at $14.99 per screen per month.

Pre-2017 Tip

Pre-2017 Samsung TV? If your Samsung TV was manufactured before 2017, it runs an older version of Tizen OS that is not compatible with the Hello Guest Screen app. The solution is simple: plug an Amazon Firestick into the HDMI port of your Samsung TV and install Hello Guest Screen on the Firestick. Works perfectly — see our Firestick setup guide for details.

Setup Guide

How to Set Up Hello Guest Screen on Samsung Smart TV

Native installation on a Samsung Smart TV takes under 10 minutes. No extra devices, no cables, no technical knowledge required.

1

Press the Smart Hub Button on Your Samsung Remote

On your Samsung remote, press the Home button (the house icon) or the Smart Hub button. This opens the Samsung app launcher. If your remote does not have a Smart Hub button, press the Home button and navigate to Apps from the home screen bar at the bottom.

2

Open the Samsung App Store (Apps)

From the Smart Hub home screen, select Apps. This opens the Samsung Smart TV app marketplace where you can search for and install any compatible app. If you see a magnifying glass or search icon at the top of the Apps screen, select it to begin searching.

3

Search for Hello Guest Screen

In the app search field, type Hello Guest Screen using the on-screen keyboard or by voice if your remote supports it. Select the Hello Guest Screen app from the search results. You will see the app description, screenshots, and an Install button.

4

Install and Open the App

Select Install and wait for the app to download. It will appear in your Apps section and on the Smart Hub home row when complete. Select Open to launch Hello Guest Screen for the first time.

5

Sign In to Your Hello Guest Screen Account

Enter your Hello Guest Screen email address and password using the on-screen keyboard. If you do not have an account yet, sign up free at helloguestscreen.com on your phone or computer — no credit card required for the free trial.

6

Connect Your Booking Calendar

In your Hello Guest Screen dashboard, navigate to Settings and connect your booking platform. Supported integrations include Airbnb, VRBO, Guesty, Hostfully, OwnerRez, Booking.com, and any platform that provides an iCal export link. Guest names, check-in dates, and check-out dates sync automatically once connected.

7

Customize Your Welcome Screen

Add your property name, WiFi network name and password, check-out time, logo or host photo, and a personalized welcome message. Optionally add a background image and a QR code linking to house rules, local recommendations, or your direct booking page. Preview on screen before saving.

8

Set Hello Guest Screen to Launch Automatically on TV Power On

On your Samsung TV, go to Settings → General → Smart Features. Find Autorun Last App or Autorun Smart Hub and enable it. Make sure Hello Guest Screen was the last app you had open before powering off. Your TV will now launch Hello Guest Screen automatically whenever it is powered on.

Auto-Launch Tip

Samsung auto-launch tip: On newer models (2020+): Settings → General → Smart Features → Autorun Last App → toggle on. Leave Hello Guest Screen open before you turn off the TV. On next power-on it launches automatically. For older models (2017–2019): the setting may appear under Settings → Smart Features → Auto-Run Smart Hub.

★ Logo or Host Photo

Your property brand logo or a welcoming host photo to build trust and encourage guests to book directly next time.

★ Custom Background Image

Set any image as the full-screen background — beachfront, mountain cabin, city apartment — to match your property’s character.

★ Video or Ambient Music

A YouTube link plays as the background — property walkthrough, fireplace, ocean waves, or background music — while guest info stays on top.

★ Personalized Message

Write a custom greeting per property — Welcome to the Nashville suite or Thank you for choosing us — displayed every check-in.

★ House Rules Display

Key house rules visible immediately on arrival without needing a welcome book. Reduces policy questions and disputes.

Samsung Tizen OS — What Makes It Different

Most smart TV welcome screen apps require an external device. Samsung Smart TVs are different: Tizen OS supports its own app marketplace, so Hello Guest Screen runs directly on the TV’s processor — not on a dongle plugged into the HDMI port.

Samsung Native App (Tizen)
✓ No extra hardware to buy or replace
✓ Nothing to accidentally unplug between guests
✓ Single power source — the TV itself
✓ One less remote to manage
✓ Native app — fastest performance on Samsung

Works on Samsung Smart TVs 2017 or newer only.

External Device (Firestick / Roku)
→ Requires a streaming stick ($25–$50)
→ Stick can be unplugged or lost
→ Separate power cable for the stick
→ Separate Firestick or Roku remote
→ Same app, runs on the stick processor

Works on any TV with an HDMI port regardless of brand.

Frequently Asked Questions — Hello Guest Screen on Samsung Smart TV

Answers to the most common questions from Airbnb hosts about using Hello Guest Screen natively on a Samsung TV.

Yes. Hello Guest Screen is available as a native app on Samsung Smart TVs running Tizen OS 3.0 or later, which covers all Samsung Smart TVs manufactured from 2017 onward. You install it directly from the Samsung Smart Hub app store — no Firestick, no Roku, no external device needed. Just open the app store on your Samsung TV, search for Hello Guest Screen, and install it like any other TV app.

Hello Guest Screen works on all Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onward, including the M, MU, RU, TU, AU, BU, CU, and DU series as well as all Q Series, Neo QLED, QLED, and The Frame models from 2017 to present. The TV must be running Tizen OS 3.0 or later. For Samsung TVs made before 2017, we recommend using an Amazon Firestick plugged into the HDMI port, which works equally well.

Go to your Samsung TV Settings, then General, then Smart Features, and enable Autorun Last App. Make sure Hello Guest Screen is the last app open before you turn off the TV. On the next power up it will launch automatically. On newer Samsung models (2020 and later) the option may appear as Autorun under Settings, General, Smart Features. This is a one-time setting that takes about 30 seconds to configure.

Yes. Once your booking calendar is connected in your Hello Guest Screen account settings, the TV display updates automatically for every new reservation. When a guest checks out and the next check-in begins, the Samsung TV screen updates with the new guest name, check-in and check-out dates, and all other reservation details. You do not touch the TV between bookings.

Yes. Hello Guest Screen is designed to run only during active guest reservations. Between reservations the screen can be set to display a neutral holding screen or turned off entirely. When a new reservation begins and the guest name updates in your booking calendar, the welcome screen activates automatically. During periods when the property is not rented, the TV functions as a normal Samsung Smart TV.

Yes. If your Samsung TV was made before 2017 and does not support the native Tizen app, you can still use Hello Guest Screen by plugging an Amazon Firestick into the HDMI port. Install Hello Guest Screen from the Amazon App Store on the Firestick and the experience is identical for your guests. The Firestick costs between $25 and $50 and works on any TV with an HDMI port regardless of the TV’s age or brand.

Yes. The Samsung Frame TV, Neo QLED, and QLED models all run Tizen OS and are fully compatible with Hello Guest Screen. Many hosts specifically choose the Samsung Frame TV for vacation rentals because when it is in Art Mode between guests it displays artwork or a neutral image, and Hello Guest Screen activates automatically when a reservation begins.

Yes. Your Hello Guest Screen account is managed entirely through the web dashboard at helloguestscreen.com. You can update your WiFi password, change the welcome message, adjust the check-out time, swap the background image, or update any other setting from anywhere — on your phone, tablet, or computer. Changes appear on the Samsung TV at your property within minutes.
